Says Tony Barnett As there was serious accidents on the bridleway, which is also a public footpath there is need to hold those responsible for the maintenance of that public access, the definitive plan and statement will show that the access is of ancient rites or gained by prescription, this then is free from any impediments and those responsible are liable for Damages/compensation.

My advice to the injured parties is to seek damages/compensation through the courts if necessary, perhaps this can be avoided and that safe access can be the outcome for both riders and public.
